• SATINWOOD 28 Base is recommended for Hardwoods of low porosity.
• SATINWOOD 28 is recommended for Softwoods and Hardwoods of high porosity.
  

1. RECOMMENDED PRETREATMENT AT INSTALLATION LEVEL

1.1 Treatment of decking boards before installation

• Thoroughly coat the entire surface area of all decking boards with SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE with a soft brush, roller brush, clean cotton cloth, spray of dip application method.
• Ensure that all end grain is thoroughly coated/sealed.
  
  Note: Dip application is the most preferred method.
  

1.2 Treatment of decking boards after installation

• Apply two further coats of SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE directly after installation and prior to using the wooden deck (See recommended application procedure below).
Note: Supply or sell a sufficient volume of SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE to the deck owner for application of at least one further coat

• Apply a further coat of SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE within approximately one month, and preferable not longer than three months after installation. (See recommended application procedure below).
• Ensure that all exposed surfaces are thoroughly coated.

• Depending on outdoor conditions, apply one coat of SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE at least twice a year (See recommended application procedure below).
• When in doubt, apply Satinwood28/28 Base when the wood appears faded or dry, especially on the horizontal surfaces.

• Remove all dust and foreign materials and, if necessary, wipe down all surfaces with a clean cotton cloth lightly moistened with mineral turpentine. (Ensure that all surfaces are completely dry and clean before proceeding with the next step).
• Use a soft brush, roller brush or clean cotton cloth dipped in SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE and apply to all exposed surfaces in light, short strokes, ensuring thorough and even distribution of the sealer. Spray application can also be used.
• Leave the sealer to absorb into the wood for a period of at least 1 to 2 hours (but not more than 12 hours).
• Use a clean cotton cloth and wipe of all excess liquid to leave a natural smooth finish.
• Allow to dry for approximately 24 hours before application of another coat or before use.

• SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE is a ready for use formulation. Do not dilute.
• Mix well before use.
• Never apply SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE during the heat of day. Rather apply during early morning or late afternoons, except if shaded from direct sunlight.
• Never apply SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE on wet surfaces or if rain is forecasted. Should rain or water fall on the treated surface within 24 hours after application, mop up all forms of free water.
• If applied by brush, roller brush or spray methods, clean equipment with mineral turpentine.
• Regular application of SATINWOOD 28/28 BASE will ensure that your outdoor wooden deck remains fully protected against our harsh South African climatic conditions.

• Flammable liquid - Avoid open flames during use.
• Avoid eye splashes and prolonged skin contact.
• Used cloths may ignite spontaneously - Dispose of in a safe manner or completely submerse in water after use.
